On December 3, 2018 some of the major world players in offshore wind and logistics meet at the final conference as part of the GLOBAL WIND ENERGY SHIPPING AND LOGISTICS PhD research project.
Here, they will discuss what the future of the offshore wind value chain looks like with focus on Shipping and Logistics. There is much to discuss at a point in time where the offshore wind turbines are getting bigger and the supply chain is globalizing. At the same time, the first offshore wind farms without government subsidies will soon be built and this puts pressure on costs. Nowhere are these changes felt more directly than within the area of logistics including transport on land, at sea, in the air and at hub points like ports and warehouses.
